A ceiling stain that appeared overnight is an emergency roof repair, not a job to plan next month. R Spiers Roofing covers those calls across East London, including Walthamstow, Leyton, Leytonstone, Chingford and Bow, and from the Essex side in Loughton, where we are based at 32 Avondale Drive.
We aim to be with you within 24 hours, often the same day if you call early. WhatsApp a photo and the postcode before we arrive so we know whether to bring tiles, felt or lead. On the roof we find the actual fault: a slipped tile, an open valley, a failed flashing, or a flat roof letting water in at the edge. If a repair will last, that is what we quote. If the covering is finished, we say so and price a replacement separately.
What an emergency visit includes
The price is written down before anyone starts. Nothing is added on the day unless you agree it. The work is fully insured and the workmanship carries a 10-year guarantee. There is no obligation if you only wanted someone to look and then decide. A small leak does not automatically mean a new roof.
Typical emergency jobs are slipped or cracked tiles after wind, a ridge that has lost its mortar, lead that has lifted at a chimney, and a flat-roof edge that is tracking water into the ceiling. If the timbers under the leak have gone soft, that is listed on the quote rather than discovered halfway through the day.
East London and the Essex border
Emergency calls from Loughton, Chigwell and Buckhurst Hill are the same team. Those towns sit on the Essex side of the patch, a short run from E17 and E4. If you are just outside the areas we list, call and we will tell you straight away if we can take it.
While we are there we will say if the leak is actually a gutter or a rotten fascia rather than the roof covering. Those are fixed on the same visit when that is the cause, so you are not waiting on a second firm while water keeps coming in.
Questions
How fast can you get to an East London leak?
We aim to be there within 24 hours, often the same day if you call early. WhatsApp a photo and the postcode to 07584 046999.
Will you patch it and leave me with a new-roof quote?
Only if the covering is finished. If a repair will last, that is the quote you get.
Do you cover the Essex side as well?
Yes. The base is in Loughton. Chigwell and Buckhurst Hill are part of the same emergency round.
What if the water is coming from the gutter?
We will say so. Gutters, fascias and soffits can be included on the same visit when they are the cause.
