Fascias are the boards the gutters hang from. Soffits close the underside of the overhang. When they rot, the gutter drops, water runs down the wall, and birds get into the gap. Replacement is usually uPVC, which does not rot, or a finish matched to what is already on the house if that is what you want. We take the old boards and gutters down, check the rafter feet, and fit new fascia, soffit and guttering so the water reaches the downpipe. Painting over rotten timber does not fix a fascia that has gone soft.

Most fascia and soffit jobs include the gutter and downpipe on that elevation. If only a short length has failed, we replace that length and leave sound boards alone.
